This web site is a programming exercise in and of itself. Excluding the blog and wiki it is written almost entirely in asciidoc. with an extremely limited amount of HTML and Java script. AsciiDoc is a structured form of ASCII text that can be processed into DocBook XML, PDF, HTML, and myriads of other file formats. The pages are very small and generated by scripts, Makefiles, and Macros, from text files and text databases. Some effort been made to support all standard browsers, but minor differences in rendering are accepted in return for reductions in size and complexity. The entire website could easily fit into and be served by a very small embedded device. The original incarnation of this site was served over a dial-up Internet connection. Further except the Blog and Wiki none of the pages require a web server at all. They are frequently viewed directly from disk without a web sever.
