    <title>services</title>
<para>I provide software development services throughout the
country. The numerous programming languages, Operating systems,
protocols, platforms, and environments I am proficient in are
    ideintified in the
    <ulink url="../skills/index.xml">skills</ulink>section, though
this list is not exhaustive nor uptodate, and I aquire
proficiency in new architectures, languages, and tools easily.
I prefer challenging projects with complex multi-disciplinary
issues, or requiring learning new skills that other developers
are unwilling to tackle. Where the scope of a project can be
clearly deliniated I prefer a fixed fee. You know what you will
have to pay, and accomplishing that cost effectively is my
    problem.</para>
<para>I am a consultant, and DLA Systems is my business. I am
not looking for employment. I appologize in advance to people
who appreciate the difference. You can stop reading now, and
check out the rest of this website to determine if I am the
right person for your job. I get contacts from staffing
companies and head hunters every day. I have no problems
working through or with other companies. But I have spent alot
of time going over what the difference is between hiring DLA
Systems as a consultant - which you can do, and hiring me as an
    employee. So I have created a checklist.</para>
    <itemizedlist>
<title>I am a consultant, and DLA Systems is my
      business.</title>
<listitem>If this is W2 work, it is employment and I am not
interested - no matter how high the rate is.</listitem>
<listitem>If this project involves relocation, I am not
interested. I have an office that I designed, with big
windows in many directions and views of the woods, and a
      stream.</listitem>
<listitem>I can be available for consultation with clients
anywhere in the world they wish, at anytime. My clients have
numerous means of contacting me and if it is truly urgent i
am available 24x7. But I am not working out of a clients
facility for 6 weeks to a year, checking in at 9 and out at
5, abiding by office polices - that is called employment -
tacking consultant onto the name and reporting wages on a
      1099 does not alter that.</listitem>
<listitem>I have clients not bosses. I treat my clients
better than most employees treat their bosses, but my
function is to listen to my clients needs and solve their
      problems.</listitem>
<listitem>If you are looking for a solution to a problem I am
your man. If you are looking to increase your staff there are
plenty of other competent people who would be happy to work
      for you.</listitem>
    </itemizedlist>
<para>If you are a staffing company, and can work within the
constraints above, I would be happy to dicuss your project
further. You can find my resume as web pages and as
downloadable word or pdf files elsewhere on this website.
